Valencia CF reinforce the club's great commitment to their International Project with the addition of a new Technical Partner, Zalgiris Kaunas Football Academy, a youth team for Lithuanian First Division club FK Kauno Zalgiris. The club's senior team have participated several times in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.
The fundamental purpose of the collaboration is to carry out joint projects, such as participation in international competitions, development of the methodology at youth level in the Lithuanian club, and the organisation of clinics and campuses for players and coaches.
Last summer, both clubs collaborated on the first edition of the VCF Soccer Camp, a campus in which more than 60 children participated and in which several VCF Academy coaches came to Lithuania to show their working methods. A VCF seminar was also held for coaches of the local team.
A delegation from the Lithuanian club, led by Laimis Bickauskas (Academy Director) and Kestutis Deltuva (Technical Director) had the opportunity to visit the VCF Academy facilities and attended a first team match at Mestalla.
Kaunas Zalgiris FA manager, Laimis Bickauskas, explains that “we are very happy to sign a contract with a club that has such a long tradition. For us it means a lot, because it is a new impulse for the development of our football in the academy. Our coaches will have the opportunity to gain experience and adapt to the training processes. This means that the more experience our coaches gain, the better the players we can develop." “We are also very happy that Valencia CF coaches came to Kaunas and organised the Valencia CF campus, sharing some tips with the children and our coaches.
With this agreement, Valencia CF continue to explore new avenues with the aim of teaching and helping numerous renowned clubs in international football their working procedures.
Sean Bai, Director General of the VCF Academy, comments that “this is an agreement that reflects the great expansion and commitment of Valencia CF to numerous international projects. It is a source of pride to be able to have the Zalgiris Kaunas Football Academy as a technical partner, with whom to share knowledge and methodologies, from which both clubs are sure to benefit. This agreement is another step forward for the VCF Academy in its goal of being a global benchmark, not only for its methodology, but also for its philosophy and values."
This strategic alliance between Valencia CF and the Zalgiris Kaunas Football Academy reflects the achievement and prestige of these global projects run by the VCF Academy, which represent a way of disseminating values and unity between the many cultures of the world. The new agreement builds on previous successes such as the recent collaboration with FC Saburtalo and the partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Sports Program (SSFDT).
